چکیده

Many vision applications would benefit from framerate, dense stereo. In this paper we present a robust algorithm implemented on a single board for a PC. The algorithm used is census transform correlation, which is well-suited for hardware implementation. Unlike existing frame-rate stereo methods, census transform correlation is robust to outliers, and does not assume that corresponding points have constant brightness. We provide an empirical comparison between our method and other frame-rate stereo algorithms using real data with ground truth. The stereo computation is performed on a reconfigurable computer built from programmable logic on a standard PCI card. The resulting system computes 32 stereo disparities on 320 by 240 pixel images at 46 frames per second. This is the highest performance stereo vision system described to date.

A real-time robust eye tracking system for autostereoscopic displays using stereo cameras

− Autostereoscopic display systems can provide users a natural 3-D visualization environment by projecting stereo video onto the user's eyes. Eye position localization is a central module in this kind of display system when users are allowed to move freely. This paper presents robust 3-D eye tracking techniques that can provide accurate eye positions in real time. Technical batteries comprise: ...

Rover navigation using stereo ego-motion

Robust navigation for mobile robots over long distances requires an accurate method for tracking the robot position in the environment. Promising techniques for position estimation by determining the camera ego-motion from monocular or stereo sequences have been previously described. However, long-distance navigation requires both a high level of robustness and a low rate of error growth. In th...

Facial Expression Emotion Detection for Real-Time Embedded Systems

Recently, real-time facial expression recognition has attracted more and more research. In this study, an automatic facial expression real-time system was built and tested. Firstly, the system and model were designed and tested on a MATLAB environment followed by a MATLAB Simulink environment that is capable of recognizing continuous facial expressions in real-time with a rate of 1 frame per se...

Compressive high-speed stereo imaging.

A compressive high-speed stereo imaging system is reported. The system is capable of reconstructing 3D videos at a frame rate 10 times higher than the sampling rate of the imaging sensors. An asymmetric configuration of stereo imaging system has been implemented by including a high-speed spatial modulator in one of the binocular views, and leaving the other view unchanged. We have developed a t...

Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition , 2000 . Robust Stereo Ego - motion for Long Distance

Several methods for computing observer motion from monocular and stereo image sequences have been proposed. However, accurate positioning over long distances requires a higher level of robustness than previously achieved. This paper describes several mechanisms for improving robust-ness in the context of a maximum-likelihood stereo ego-motion method. We demonstrate that even a robust system wil...
